The recent wildfires coupled with COVID-19 have had an acute impact on communications infrastructure and local internet connectivity. Together, Onward Eugene and Technology Association of Oregon invites you to join us on January 7th for a Digital Resilience Forum, a virtual panel discussion about the resilient communications infrastructure needed before, during, and after a disaster.
-What is the process that public agencies follow to support communities during disasters? -What resources do private sector telecommunications companies offer during a disaster? -What lessons were learned related to internet access in the Upper McKenzie valley? -What should communications infrastructure preparedness look like? -How can the public and private sector collaborate in the future to pave the way for more resilient communications and connectivity?
We will bring together industry with regional emergency response professionals to share strategies for how we can tackle these challenges collectively. We welcome local businesses, community organizations and individuals to join this lively and timely discussion.
